One male (2017-093) on 10 November-10 December 2017, Calcasieu: Lake Charles, 6513 San Miguel St.; Charlotte Chehotsky (ph; https://ebird.org/checklist/S41016298). This bird first appeared winter of 2016-2017 (LBRC 2017-016/22nd Report) and is presumably the same individual returning for its second winter in 2017-2018. Charlotte Chehotsky also recorded this bird during winter 2018-2019 and 2019-2020. Members reviewed images of some LSUMNS specimens, discussed possible hybrid characters and ultimately, all generally agreed that traces of white on the hcin and throat corners did not positively indicate a hybrid.

Unaccepted Records

One (1998-024) on 4 January 1998, Caddo?: Bossier-Caddo-Bienville CBC. Reported on CBC documentation form. After two circulations, a majority of Members were concerned that the description left too much to interpret and was not clear enough to eliminate Myrtle Warbler or hybrid.

One alternate male (1998-148) on 10 April 1998, Cameron: Johnsons Bayou, Peveto Woods Sanctuary. This bird’s throat was described as “suffused with yellow,” which could be interpreted as indicative of a hybrid Audubon’s X Myrtle, which became a concern for a majority of Members.
