Accepted Records

An immature female (81-40) at East Jetty Woods, 2 miles south of Cameron on 24 October 1981 (Van Remsen, Steve Cardiff, Tristan Davis); specimen deposited at the Louisiana State Museum of Zoology (LSUMZ 100478).

One (83-23) at Peveto Beach Woods, Cameron Parish, from 18 to 23 December 1983 (Wylie Barrow, Rich Martin, Tom Schulenberg; Tito Vilella*). This is the second Louisiana record; the first, also from Cameron Parish, was in October 1981 (see LOS News 103, February 1984).

One immature male (88-7) on 3 Jan. 1988 (Tunica Hills CBC), West Feliciana: Rosedown Plantation; Ronald J. Stein, Melvin Weber (Cardiff & Dittmann 1988, p. 550, 947). Muth (1988, p. 278) erroneously reported this third state record as a fourth state record.

One alternate plumaged male (1990-36) on 28 Apr 1990, Cameron: Garner Ridge, 3 mi. W of Johnsons Bayou School; Michael J. Musumeche; AB44(3):433.

One (90-113) on 13 Sep. 1990, Jefferson: Grand Isle, Nacarri Drive; Alfred E. and Gwen B. Smalley (AB 45(1):117).

One (93-73) from 16-19 Dec. 1993, Cameron: Oak Grove, Rutherford Motel; Melvin Weber, Robby Bacon, Jim Holmes, Joseph P. Kleiman, Mark Swan, and Paul E. Conover (ph only)(FN48(2):217).

One adult female (97-41) from 30 Dec 1997-25 Jan 1998, Jefferson Davis: due W of Thornwell on Watkins Road; Gary Broussard, Laurence C. Binford, William R. Fontenot, Joseph P. Kleiman, Karen Fay, Michael Seymour (card only, ph taken 1 Jan). This is the sixth state record. Erroneously reported from Cameron and with an incomplete date range in FN 52(2): 211.

One male in alternate plumage (1998-51) on 8 Apr 1998, Gulf of Mexico: 138 mi. S of Cameron, Garden Banks 189A oil platform, 27o46�43�N, 93o18�34�W; Laurence C. Binford.

One first basic male (2009-89) on 29 December 2009-10 January 2010, Plaquemines: Triumph, Fort Jackson Woods; Phillip Wallace (ph), Glenn Ousset, Devin Bosler (ph); found by Phillip A. Wallace on the Venice CBC.

One female (2011-124) on 30 October 2011, Cameron: Willow Island, 7 mi. E Cameron. Most Members believed that the description was too superficial to support identification of such a rare species (only 12 accepted records) or eliminate similar Black-throated Green Warbler.

One female (2019-035) on 12 May 2019, Jefferson: Metairie. All Members believed that Black-throated Green Warbler or possibly other superficially similar warbler species were not adequately addressed and eliminated by the description.
