Description (include only what was actually seen, not what "should" have been seen; include if possible: total length/relative size compared to other familiar species, body bulk, shape, proportions, bill, eye, leg, and plumage characteristics. Stress features that separate it from similar species): Large gull, bright orange/yellow bill with red and black spots at (mandible) bill’s tip,
bright orange/yellow legs, dark gray mantle, iris yellow, slightly reddish orbital ring,
primaries darker than mantle with small white spots near wing tips, white leading and trailing edges of
primaries and secondaries, head and ventral surfaces white. |
