Identification
aids: |
Peterson’s
Guide + Steve Cardiff’s comments on labird after reviewing the three images …
“What you are interpreting as greenish belly is the normal yellowish belly
wash of a peewee in fresh plumage.
Anyway, this bird looks like a good candidate for a vagrant Western
Wood-Pewee. It's pretty dark, it has a
dark mandible, and the "vest" looks brownish versus more
grayish-olive. One was reported there by Melvin Weber last week but I don't
know if it was also photographed.” Using
Peterson’s Field Guide to Bird’s of North America, the bird in question more
closely resembles the Western Wood Pewee. |
