13. Habitat: Suburban yard; tallow, hackberry, and live oaks

14. Behavior of bird / circumstances of observation (flying, feeding, resting; include and stress habits used in identification; relate events surrounding observation): Perching, flying, feeding (including tallow fruit). Feeding on tallow fruit; flying.

Description (include only what was actually seen, not what "should" have been seen; include if possible: total length/relative size compared to other familiar species, body bulk, shape, proportions, bill, eye, leg, and plumage characteristics. Stress features that separate it from similar species): Tanager bill; bright yellow overall with black wings, mantle, and tail. Two wingbars – upper one yellow and lower one whitish with pale yellow tinge. Red tinge to crown, face, and throat.

17. Similar species (include how they were eliminated by your observation): Bill shape eliminates superficially similar orioles. Adult male is unmistakable.
