Nice early morning light with blue skies. The bird was shaded in the understory at Peveto Woods.

Peveto Sanctuary - Wooded cheniere on coast

 

Behavior of bird: 

The Western Tanager flew up and landed approximately ten yards away as we walked into Peveto Woods. He appeared tired. He stayed put then flew another ten yards and landed.
