they were about 200 feet above ground, and they flew directly over my
head at one point. |

used in identification; relate events surrounding observation): the birds were flying rapidly in small
circles as they actively fed in the air above me. |

length/relative size compared to other familiar species, body bulk, shape,
proportions, bill, eye, leg, and plumage
characteristics. Stress features that separate it from similar species): I could not discern throat color; lighting too
poor. No vocalizations, but the swifts
seemed smaller than Chimney Swifts. |

very similar; they were eliminated based on seasonal distribution. |

before this observation. I have heard
them vocalize on 1-2 of these previous occasions. |
