11. Distance to bird(s):  70 yards at 3:00 pm and 60 feet at 4:00 pm

13. Habitat:  residential with open yards but with large trees and near water

14. Behavior of bird / circumstances of observation (flying, feeding, resting; include and stress habits used in identification; relate events surrounding observation):  Perching and occasionally flying out to catch an insect.

Stress features that separate it from similar species):  Bright yellow stomach and breast, light colored throat, dark bill, dark eye, dark, wide mask, moderately forked tail.

17. Similar species (include how they were eliminated by your observation):  Couch’s Kingbird.  Other birders had previously heard the bird call and had eliminated the Couch’s.
