Behavior
of bird: |
Bird was seen at first sitting on a fence and occasionally
flying down to the ground to catch an insect. |
Description: |
Bird had salmon colored belly, light gray breast and back
with essentially black tail and bill. |

None |
Similar species: |
Somewhat similar to female Vermilion Flycatcher but the
Vermilion is smaller and has a streaked breast. When I first saw the
bird I was making sure that it was not a female Vermilion because of the
super bright midday sun. |

I took several photographs of the bird that will be

Previous experience with
this species: |
I had seen one once before in Louisiana on 3-12-05 near
the Catahoula Lake Diversion Canal Structure. Also, I have seen them in
Texas on a couple of occasions. |
