mostly perched on fences, silos, etc. Occasionally sallied out, once to ground. |
Description: |
A phoebe size bird, obviously a flycatcher. Generally dirty gray above, darker on wings and head. Tail black, fairly long. Chin, throat and upper breast paler gray. Flanks and belly, lower breast a sort of cinnamon-rusty color. This individual was rather bright compared to some that I have seen. |

Unique--absence of wingbars, facial pattern, and streaking underneath eliminate the vaguely similar Vermilion. |
