1 possible immature, but photos don’t show rufous in coverts I thought I saw on 11/11.

5. Time(s) of day when observed:10:30-10:45 on 11/11; not noted on 11/18; 1:50-2:05 on 11/25

10. Optical equipment (type, power, condition): Eagle 10x40 binoculars

11. Distance to bird(s): 5-10 meters

12. Duration of observation: 5-10 minutes each date

13. Habitat: Recreational area with baseball field and former trailer park post-Katrina, adjacent to Mississippi River.

14. Behavior of bird / circumstances of observation (flying, feeding, resting; include and stress habits used in identification; relate events surrounding observation): Perching on fence and wires; flycatching. Difficult to find early; easier later in the morning.

Description (include only what was actually seen, not what "should" have been seen; include if possible: total length/relative size compared to other familiar species, body bulk, shape, proportions, bill, eye, leg, and plumage characteristics. Stress features that separate it from similar species): Approximate size of Eastern Phoebe but a little slimmer. Grayish upper parts, black tail, rufous lower breast and belly; pale wing bars (appeared buffy on 11/11 but not on subsequent sightings); dark bill and eye.

17. Similar species (include how they were eliminated by your observation): Could be confused with imm. Vermilion FC with a cursory view; otherwise straightforward ID.
