Specific Locality: Hackbery Ridge, Cameron Parish

5. Time(s) of day when observed: 2:46 PM

6. Reporting observer and address: Tom Finnie, Sulphur, LA

7. Other observers accompanying reporter who also identified the bird(s): Devin Bosler,  Justin Bosler. Robby Bacon.

8. Other observers who independently identified the bird(s): Devin Bosler and Justin Bosler originally found the Long-Eared Owl a few hours before we arrived.

9. Light conditions (position of bird in relation to shade and to direction and amount of light): Owl situated in middle of Acacia Scrub sitting in the shade.

10. Optical equipment (type, power, condition): Nikon D300, 400mm lens

11. Distance to bird(s): 25 feet

12. Duration of observation: Approximately 15 minutes

13. Habitat: A scrubby remnant chenier

14. Behavior of bird / circumstances of observation (flying, feeding, resting; include and stress habits used in identification; relate events surrounding observation): Resting/roosting in an Acacia Scrub.
