Louisiana Bird Records Committee (LBRC) Review List. The LBRC recommends the
use of this form or a similar format when submitting records for review (to
assure that all pertinent information is accounted for). Attach additional
pages as necessary. Please print or type. Attach xerox
of field notes, drawings, photographs, or tape recordings, if available.

hour, but not always in view or calling |

13. Habitat: mowed yard with large live oaks; across canal
there was thicker habitat, brush, various trees, etc. |

(flying, feeding, resting; include and stress habits used in identification;
relate events surrounding observation): Flying around the whole area,
calling, perching in trees and on large pump; one bird observed entering nest
found by T. Guidry. Later we saw it sitting in nest, apparently incubating. |

length/relative size compared to other familiar species, body bulk, shape,
proportions, bill, eye, leg, and plumage
characteristics. Stress features that separate it from similar species):Large, chunky flycatcher. Brown above, brighter rusty on
wings and tail. Yellow below except for throat. Bold black and white head
pattern (see photos). Rather bull-headed and large bill. |
