8. Other observers who independently identified the bird(s): There were several follow-up reports on Labird.

12. Duration of observation: 10-15 minutes off and on.

13. Habitat: strand of trees and shrubs between marsh edge and Maxent Canal.

Stress features that separate it from similar species):

 

Phillip and I were at opposite ends of Recovery Rd. We both independently detected the bird calling, loud dee-ee. Once the bird was located, the I.d. was confirmed: large bulky flycatcher, black cap with prominent white supercilium, white throat, yellow below, rufous brown above with bright rufous in wings and tail.
