length/relative size compared to other familiar species, body bulk, shape,
proportions, bill, eye, leg, and plumage characteristics. Stress features
that separate it from similar species): Pale pink legs. Dark irides. Bill pale pink basally, gradually becoming black on
tip. Clean white ground color all over with light, pale brown patterning. |

your observation): Glaucous Gull by lack of sharp
demarcation between pink and black on bill. Not identified to subspecies by
this observer. |
