Clear day but angle of light made photography difficult.

Behavior of bird: 

Sitting on beach and flew a couple of times and landed nearby as we approached.

Description:

Totally white plumage, pink legs, pinkish bill with black tip.

Voice:

None noted.

Similar species:

Approximate size of nearby adult Herring Gull which have light grayish mantle, dark wing tips, yellowish bill, etc.
