Overcast skies on 28 October, sunny and clear on 29 October; lighting was ideal during both sightings

within 5-10 meters; birds passed overhead at close range

Habitat: 

Beach/scrubby-dune habitat (Wax Mrytle, Croton, Saltbox, various grasses/sedges, etc. w/ debris/driftwood present)

Behavior of bird: 

Both birds were alone moving E along the beach

Description:

Most distinguishable field marks "head-on" were pale buff cheeks and throat (brighter "face" appearance), which contrasted markedly with a dark cap, an extensive pale, tawny rump was also visible after the bird passed

Similar species:

Very similar to Cliff Swallow, however CLSW show distinctive dark reddish cheeks and blackish throat
