approaching. Windy with no shadows or shade, just a gray day. |

channel marker and it was preening. Only stayed about 5 minutes, then took off again. |

length/relative size compared to other familiar species, body bulk, shape,
proportions, bill, eye, leg, and plumage
characteristics. Stress features that separate it from similar species): Bird
was close to cormorant size. Could make out it’s dramatic demarcation between brown on
breast/head and white on it’s belly. Long tail.
