14. Behavior of bird / circumstances of observation:

Came in to Screech Owl call.  Vegetation was so dense I abandoned my attempt to enter woods and played owl call over my phone.  Response was good, with several Common Yellowthroats, B-g. Gnatcatchers, and W-e. Vireos.  This vireo popped up out of the gaura, saw me, then dropped back in a layer.  I photographed it through a curtain of gaura.

15. Description: A somewhat worn-looking Bell’s, or perhaps it only appeared so in the heat and light.  Back seemed a worn olive color, head somewhat olive-gray, and the yellow on the sides of the whitish breast not as pale lemony as on other birds.  Pale area around eyes was diffuse but broad.  Two wingbars, both fairly distinct and whitish.  Bill pale, grayish or bluish-gray with seemingly a hint of pink.  legs bluish-gray.  Eyes dark.
