porch with yard edged by trees, brush. |

Feeding,
resting when I made my id. |
15. Description (include only
what was actually seen, not what "should" have been seen; include
if possible: total length/relative size compared to other familiar species,
body bulk, shape, proportions, bill, eye, leg, and plumage characteristics.
Stress features that separate it from similar species): |
The
bird appeared darker than a Ruby-throated, especially on the belly.
Tail appeared slightly longer than wingtips. From the underside, there
was some white in the tail. Gorget appeared a bronzy green in center
and pink on the sides. Back was green. Crown appeared to be tan
with dark dots in it. |
16. Voice: I did not hear
it initially but I have since heard it chip and give a buzzy song. |

they were eliminated by your observation): I could see no rusty color
anywhere on the bird to eliminate Selasphorus sp. Gorget and crown
eliminated Ruby-throated. |

species: Very little. Observed an adult male in AZ. |
