Description: |
Adult female just completing her winter molt.
All primaries and rectrecies were complete and she was starting to put on fat
for migration. Featers R1, R2, and R5 were plucked for exact measurement as
they were for banding. R1 is not considered because the measuring technique
is not described. The measurement can vary greatly depending on where along
the feather it is measured. R5 is more equal in measurements all along the
length of the feather. |
