Figure 1. Hummingbird Template. DLD designed this template so it would be easy to translate a bird's description to paper. There are two images per entry. One image is facing you, so gorget, sides, underparts, and spread tail are highlighted. The gorget is divided into 4 quadrants allowing better placement of pattern. The other image focuses on the wings in profile, face, back and uppertail.. Primaries and rectrices are numbered to facilitate recording molt. There is ample room to scribble additional notes.
